Primarily we target People who feel isolated, excluded, lonely, vulnerable and in need of a friendly and confidential conversation. There are no barriers of race, creed, gender, religion, social or financial standing to inhibit anyone from availing of our service.
Our only condition for entry is a Client must provide a contact representative who agrees to take a call from us in the event of our Staff experiencing difficulty in contacting this Client. No call can remain unfinished through no contact and we reserve the right to contact the emergency services should we consider this necessary for the wellbeing of any Client.
Such contact person can be a relative, friend, neighbour,
who is within reasonable distance of your home. We would remind all Client
and prospective Clients that no person associated with the Friendly Call will
ever visit your home unless directly invited by the Client and then only with
formal permission from Management. In such an event any Staff member will
have formal photo
Identification, authorised by Management.
The service may request information on any prescribed medication a Client may be taking so as to assist by way of reminder to meet the instructions.
As the service is confidential, where a Client identifies any difficulty, we will seek your permission to refer your particular difficulty to any relevant Statutory Agency, seeking response and resolution.
While we seek primarily to support Older People, loneliness recognises no boundaries; therefore our service is available to all who suffer in this way.
While most of our Clients are referred by Public Health Nurses, Hospital discharge, Home Care Services, Social Services, the Gardai, local GP’s, Meals on Wheels, St Vincent de Paul, Age Action, Care Local, Muintir na Tire, ICA Groups and Others, any Client may self refer or be referred by family or friend.
